I found this comment retarded on the Gilmore logo:

"Why would anybody use the INITIAL OF HIS LAST NAME as a symbol in his political campaign logo while running for the presidency? What does it imply? How does it relate to the American people? Let’s say it’s a design blunder in brief!"

You trash Gilmore, but then praise the Obama logo, that uses...the initial...of his last name. Granted the 'O' is more veiled and the design is much better, I don't see why using the initial of your last name is such a bad idea, it's mostly an execution issue.

The Gilmore logo is way to busy anyway.

It's funny how the ratings of the political logos has an almost direct corelation to the extent that that politician is on the left. "Unbiased" my ass.

I don't understand why Mike Huckabee's logo wasn't included in your discussion. It's quite interesting that he continues to be excluded, even in private forums like this.

As for the merits of his artwork, the imagery of the wavy stripe and wafting stars aren't overpowering, but tie in undeniably American symbols. The font was a homey-yet-strong serif but only mildly so. The gold font color broke up the typically requisite red, white, and blue, but complemented them nicely. And the simple 'PRESIDENT' kept the look clean, but communicated the idea effectively without being presumptuous. Overall, a good logo.
