We all know of the corporate giant that Microsoft is and how it has taken over the computer world, but is it right that they advertise their logo in their wallpapers? Sure, I admit that some of them look pretty cool, but I think that the windows logo, ruins the design. Why would I want a Microsoft ad appearing on my computer screen all the time? All it does is remind me of how frustrated I get when Vista has one of its numerous glitches or saves a document as a “docx” file. Of course I understand self branding and promoting your company, but sometimes it’s just too much. Maybe if certain versions of Windows had less problems, then I wouldn’t mind seeing their logo in my face everyday.

Microsoft has enough money that they don’t need to advertise on all of their own products. If you have them, then you already spent money on them. What kind of greedy company are they that they are going to force you to see their logo all the time? Oh right, what am I thinking?…Microsoft is no different than any other corporate giant. They must know what they are doing to become a giant in the first place, but if that’s true, then why does the operating system they created in 2001 far and away excel over their latest 2007 release? I guess you can’t do it right everytime.

Image searching can be so much fun. I rely on an image search for inspiration, knowledge, keeping up with current topics and sometimes, just for fun. Although the pictures below are not logos, they certainly can inspire future designs. I found these gorgeous animal wallpapers that were too beautiful not to share. I was thinking that the designers out there might enjoy a bit of inspiration on their desk or lap tops. Enjoy!

We all have pretty wild imaginations and can dream up some really interesting concepts or creatures. In some parts of our minds, I’m sure we’d all agree, it would be really cool if these things existed. This is why the fantasy genre is so popular and fascinating to us. It’s all about a dreamworld where we can make anything happen. Artists, writers, filmmakers and others have all taken advantage of these ideas when creating beautiful work full of mythical creatures and places. Here are some breathtaking examples of a few artists’ renditions of those fantasy worlds.

With a craving to be a world traveler, I love to come across beautiful landscapes and imagine myself there. Landscape scenes are a way to show us the beautiful world that exists around us or, if graphically altered, what the world could be. The internet has provided us with great opportunities to see things that we can’t necessarily see with our own eyes. With great websites, we can go traveling from the comforts of our own home. I only wish these beautiful works of art could be formed into great logos! They may not work for that, but they sure do provide excellent inspiration.
