Times Square is such a famous place in New York and very well known to those who have been there and even those who haven’t. This place is a mecca for advertising. With so many ads and banners, there are endless possibilities for logo displays. Among all the bright lights and billboards, how are any particular ones noticed, and what does the public think of this? Is it overwhelming? Is advertising actually successful if no one picks out your ad among so many others? Perhaps this is why they are all so large. Not only to be seen from a distance, but to compete with the many other displays.

With advertising everywhere you look in Times Square, logos of all sizes are displayed proudly. It is the best place to look for the latest advertising, product packaging and of course logo designs. Where else can you see a 20 ft cup of noodles?

With a craving to be a world traveler, I love to come across beautiful landscapes and imagine myself there. Landscape scenes are a way to show us the beautiful world that exists around us or, if graphically altered, what the world could be. The internet has provided us with great opportunities to see things that we can’t necessarily see with our own eyes. With great websites, we can go traveling from the comforts of our own home. I only wish these beautiful works of art could be formed into great logos! They may not work for that, but they sure do provide excellent inspiration.

Wallpaper designs make our desktops more personal. Whether you are a Mac or PC, we all have them: a little piece of creativity that makes your computer display stand out. There are a ton of them out there now and the collection keeps growing. Wallpaper backgrounds are no longer just photographs, but often are graphically enhanced so that the images become extraordinary. Here are a few amazing samples I found over time that I would love to share to make your computer experience a little more fascinating. Enjoy!

I am thrilled to see the huge response of votes that we received over the past week for our logo redesign contest. Choosing a winner is tough and your voices were heard, but the voting was so close between two designs that I am narrowing it down and opening the votes once again so that we can pick the ultimate winner. Below are the two finalists. The voting will only last until 12pm Pacific time on April 23rd so get your votes in right away! The voting box is at the bottom right of the screen. Good luck finalists!

I found this yesterday and if you haven’t already seen it, I thought it was worth sharing. Images can often be deceiving. Just like how kids lay on the grass on summer days and imagine shapes out of cloud formations. Well with video games and ipods, I don’t know if they do that anymore, but the point is that if you use your imagination, your mind can manipulate anything. The new discovery is the Chicago Bull’s logo and how if you flip it upside down, it doesn’t look like a bull anymore. The general consensus is that it looks like a robot sitting on a bench and reading a bible. Was this intentional? The similarities are too extreme for it not to be. It may be no Johnny 5 or Optimus Prime, but it certainly does resemble a frowning metal creature. Check it out.

Possibly an R2D2 reference with a little more of a sad expression? Why a bible? Could it be a dictionary?
