Forget March Madness, it’s Time for Logo Madness

With the start of the 2009 NCAA Men’s and Women’s Basketball tournaments and all the excitement surrounding March Madness, we thought we would conduct our own tournament featuring some the world’s most famous brands and the logos that represent them.
Each day we will have a head-to-head matchup, where you will vote for the winning logo. Can Fed Ex beat UPS? Is the BBC the Cinderella story of the tournament? Can Yahoo be the next Gonzaga or George Mason and shock the world by defeating the behemoth Google? It is up to you. Welcome to Logo Madness.
Sit back relax and take a break from your office pool, which you weren’t winning anyway and let’s see who has the best brand and logo. Click on the bracket below and make your picks. Vote below to your right on the poll.

Easy one…Coke wins this. Pepsi sold out and jazzed up a classic logo. Doesn’t matter if their soda stinks - Coke wins this one in a blowout.

Do we vote by replying here?

Either way I’m voting Coke. Gotta give it up to them for sticking with their classic logo, fighting off the urge to redesign, and actually designing so well around it that they don’t have to.

I love the FedEx logo. The hidden arrow created by the negative space between the E and the x is so subtle, but killer. I never noticed until it was pointed out in an article I read. Now, its etched in my brain so I see it pops out every time I see the logo. Genius!

Khall, Thanks for the comment. Make sure you keep checking and vote for Fed Ex when the poll goes up. We are changing them each day to see who wins!

Who says coke stinks? Here’s the skinny- in a taste test, Pepsi won, because it’s sweeter. But, if people drink the WHOLE BEVERAGE, then coke does better. Coke rocks (and rots your teeth).
