Interesting article particularly as I'm about to design a logo for my website.

I often wondered what effect the different colours have on us.

Hi, I'd just like to say that this is a really good guide to colors! I always had a scary feeling I wasn't using the correct colors in the correct situations. This really helps me now. Thank you for this info. Today I am spending my entire day studying this. It's work for me but I might as well since I am getting back to school soon! :)

Colors plays a pivotal role in recognising a product. Many people recognises the product through its color. In India, pepole use color of the product to scrutinize a product is it orginial or duplicate. As Rin suprme always comes in Blue in color. I have observed that, all FMCG product carrying red color in their wrapper, it shows that red color is a intense color and it increases the pulse rate.

Colour psychology is an important topics for all designers. Here's some further info (not on my blog so I'm not advertising):

I disagree that grey can't be used because it represents old age, sadness and dullness. All logos should work in greyscale for photocopying / printing purposes, therefore any coloured tone will be reproduced in a shade of grey.
