LogoBlog Poll 16 - Will logos ever become extinct?

Logo is one the most important elements of the brand identity of any company. It is the image of a company’s service or its product. It is also the level of quality or the experience one had with a particular brand. In the ancient times, logo designs were merely used as initial letters to represent a person or place for use on stationary or signs. Later, their importance grew to such an extent that they were then used as trademarks by merchants and then became corporate identities for organizations in order to accomplish marketing, branding and identity goals in the market.

In the same regard, LogoBlog tested the fervor of its visitors and readers with a poll question recently. We asked our readers if logos will ever become extinct.

Will logos ever become extinct? Poll Result

According to the results, 12% of Logoblog visitors think that logos will get extinct in the future while 5% are uncertain. There is also a bunch of people (3% of total poll results) who had no idea about the question! (Welcome to the world of ignorance!)

Most importantly (and to my content…) 80% of the audience voted that logos will never become extinct. (Thank you very much!)

The results show that logos will never lose their value and significance in the coming time. Alongside the brand or entity’s name or in the exact form of it, there would always be an image in the name of a ‘logo’. Many cheers to the ever-evolving LOGO!

LogoBlog Poll 15 – A logo design that depicts technology, innovation and invention

Over a century now, business entities have made every possible effort to demonstrate technological breakthroughs in their respective logos. Compaq did it by revamping its old logo to a more modern and futuristic design to compliment its innovative, hi-tech nature. Fiat followed the trend and changed its existing logo with a ‘modern modification’ to adorn its new range of cars.

Last week our choice was a bunch of excellent logos depicting technology, innovation and invention - comprising of IBM logo, Intel logo, Microsoft logo, Apple logo, HP logo and Oracle logo.

    Technology Logos - Tech Logos

Well, the results are in and Apple logo emerged as the poll’s winner with 56% of total votes. Second in line is the IBM logo with 16% of votes, followed by Intel logo with 13% votes. There was a tie between Microsoft and Oracle logos, each getting 6% of total votes. And HP logo came last with just 3% votes (boOoOo!).

Apple logo expresses the technological breakthroughs of the company with its modern, friendly and approachable identity mark. It’s so powerful that it doesn’t need a name or a slogan to introduce itself as the Apple company emblem, recognized worldwide by millions as the Apple logo.

Congratulations to the Apple logo for winning the LogoBlog Poll!

Many logos encompass the element of speed in them to represent innovation, constant evolution, movement and rapid development in their respective areas. Last week’s LogoBlog poll focused on the logos that fully correspond to speed, in terms of the qualities mentioned above, or the ones which ‘translate speed at the maximum’.

With the availability of countless logos that symbolize speed, we narrowed down our choices to Superman Logo, Nike Logo, Jaguar Logo, FedEx Logo and Boeing Logo, each representing ‘speed’ to the full in their different categories.

As anticipated, Nike logo was the clear champion by gaining 48% of the total votes. Following down the line, Jaguar logo won the second place by receiving 22% votes, whereas Superman logo and Boeing logo each received 11% and FedEx received 7% of the votes.
