Written By: Nora Reed

Have you ever imagined the earth without colors…how boring and dull our lives would have been. My journey as a graphic designer has helped me learn the symbolic and psychological impact of different colors. Every color has a unique personality and delivers a different message. Therefore, when you get a logo design for your company, be very careful with the color selection. Always pick those colors which reflect the nature and characteristics of your business.

Red, is claimed to be the most commonly used color in logo designs as it easily grabs attention of the viewers. However, red should not be only used for its arresting quality because it says a lot more. It reflects courage, romance, aggressiveness, strength, danger, blood, passion and Christmas.

Yes, my friends, with the soon approaching Christmas, I clicked with the idea of collecting some of the charismatic red logos from the internet. So, let’s join the Christmas celebrations with these inspiring 35 Red Logo Designs

I am sure lot more “Red Logo Designs” can beautify this collection. Therefore, please don’t hesitate to send in more red logo designs and do tell which of these logos you found most elegant.

Another year has come to an end…. time to wave goodbye to the year 2009. With every ending year, we get to see interesting collections on different blogs, after all its packing time ;) Such compilations rewind all the pleasant and unpleasant happenings of the closing year and it’s always fun to go through them.

Being in the design community, I couldn’t think of anything better then displaying the major redesigned logos of 2009. Although, famous companies and brands have established identity but to transmit an up-to-date image they keep playing with their logos. We all know that re-branding or logo re-design is no easy task and results can be harmful as well but still we get to see revamped famous logos.

Today, I present you a huge roundup of 2009 redesigned logos. Just for a reminder, this collection does not claim all the redesigns to be successful or best ones. I leave it to you all to decide which redesigns worked out well and which were a disappointment.

Like every year, 2009 also witnessed famous brands experimenting with their logo designs. Few brands utterly emerged with a new look while others ended up with minimal changes. I would like to know your thoughts about the logo redesigning process….do you think famous brands should risk their identity by redesigning their logos?

40 Logos with negative beauty – An interesting Logo Designing trick!!

Categories: Logo Design Tips, Logo Designers, Logo Inspiration
Written By: Nora Reed

With the present logo design awareness I think there is no need to explain the term ‘Negative Space’. To me, interpreting the negative space within a logo design is no child’s play and I deeply respect the designers who succeed coming up with such clever logo designs.

However, one never gets tired of admiring the beauty of negative space logos which skillfully portray a lot of things at the same time. Initially, we found this concept within few logos which are ranked among world’s best logo designs for their uniqueness…FedEx Logo, ED Logo and Yoga Australia Logo. But now, negative space logos have become the most positive aspect of logo design world.

So, for now, let’s just stop praising such logos and treat our eyes with some clever examples.

Do you agree that negative space logos can be confusing at times and fail to convey the multiple messages to the viewers?

Sesame Street turns 40! The widely known children’s program has come a long way in 40 years, so it deserves a celebration. The show began on November 10th 1969 and is the longest running children’s television program on US TV. Google has proudly modified its logo to commemorate the joyous event with characters from the show. Jim Henson’s Muppet characters bring the educational series to life, adding personality and entertainment to the educational program.

Today was Cookie Monster and yesterday was Big Bird. What other characters will Google feature? Most likely the very popular Elmo will make an appearance.

It’s hard to keep a child’s attention span for very long, but Sesame Street has done a great job keeping kids both entertained and educated. Since the show has been around for so long, even adults have fond memories and favorite characters. The adults have passed on the tradition and perhaps Sesame Street will have another 40 yrs to go! Happy Birthday Sesame Street!
