After I finished watching the movie The Karate Kid, I was amazed by the number of famous brands that had been featured in the film. Amongst the famous logos, I saw the adidas logo, and nike logo. This made me realize that corporations are increasingly using product placement in blockbuster movies. The technique we know as subliminal advertising is now being applied rapidly by large corporations.

Thus, I started exploring on Google to find out some other famous brands that were being featured in latest Hollywood movies. I came upon this magnificent website Brand Channel that holds a database of all major brands being featured in blockbuster movies. Some brands are used as product placements, while others appear in the movies as mere coincidences.

Although we see a movie countless times, but we seldom observe the many logo designs being advertised to us via subliminal advertising. A perfect example of this was the Oscar winning animated movie Logorama, which features around 3000 corporate logo designs. Following is a list of 10 famous brands that have been featured most in this year’s blockbuster movies.

The subject of today’s discourse is a very controversial but critical topic in the contemporary logo design world. Yes folks, it’s the changing preference of logo design companies from custom-made logos to online logo design contests. Since its inception, online logo design contests have created a profound impact on the logo designing marketplace. I will be making an analysis on how the evolution of online logo design contests has changed the client preference of custom-made logo designs.

The best way do a comparative analysis is to chalk out the merits and demerits of the subject under discussion. Let us discuss the advantages and disadvantages of both custom-made logos and logo design contests.

Reasons of this Major Change in Logo Design Industry:

Below are few reasons which have made “Crowdsourcing” so lucrative and appealing.

It provides a premium opportunity for all designers to earn a living.

Graphic Designers can build their portfolio by participating in logo contests.

Crowdsourcing is economical and affordable for small business.

Through Crowdsourcing, logos are designed in a matter of hours.

Crowdsourcing provide designers with adequate exposure.

A client gets more than 50 logos to choose from.

Designers can participate in as many projects as they want.

The biggest evidence that bears testimony to the growing demand of logo design contests is the shift of logo design companies from custom-made logos to logo design contests. The most recent case in point is one of the prominent Logo Design Companies …Logo Design Guru. This proves the success and growing trend of crowdsourcing. So I would advice all aspiring and talented designers to participate and earn you worth on sites like Logo Design Guru.

A simple logo design can sometimes become dull if created without a strong and relevant meaning. But then again, the best of the brands have simple but effective logos. Recall the famous FedEx logo desgin . Although it may look simple and naive to a layman, it has a brilliant concept with a hidden message incorporated using an “arrow” between the letters “E” and “X”. The arrow in the hidden logo denotes progress and advancement of the company.

This is one of the biggest challenges facing logo designers. Creating a conceptual logo design with a powerful hidden message is more vital than making a fancy logo design. This is because if a logo does not communicate the core meaning of the company to its customers, the brand will be unable to sell. One of the most popular techniques used in logo designing to create hidden logos is using negative space.

Following are 35 exceptionally creative hidden logos that have a message concealed within them. See if you can find them out.

Building a strong brand does not conclude with a strong logo design. It entails a cumbersome branding process that aids the brand in its image building process. It takes years, or decades, to erect a famous brand name with sizable brand equity. But if caught up in a logo design controversy, they can get devastated in minutes.

But even if corporate logos evade controversies, famous logos are still likely to remain in the limelight for criticism and mock by the general public. Everybody loves a little humor and when it comes to ridiculing famous brand logos, there are some really creative people out there who can do just that.

Apple logo isn’t the only famous brand to be under satirical attack. There was a collection of hilarious Google logos I posted few months back exhibiting how creatively people play with famous logos. In addition that, who can forget the BP logo fiasco? Courtesy Greenpeace UK, we saw thousands of redesigns of BP logo.
Today I have collected 15 of the funniest parodies of famous logos that display corporate satire at its best.
